Today is the last day for physicians and teaching hospitals to review and dispute their 2014 Sunshine Act/Open Payments data submitted by applicable manufacturers and applicable group purchasing organizations (GPO).
The dispute and resolution process encountered problems in early April, including a loss of several days worth of records disputed by physicians. Nonetheless, CMS is adhering to the May 20, 2015 end date for dispute and resolution.
Next up is the 15-day correction period. The correction period allows applicable manufacturers and applicable GPOs to update their 2014 submissions with corrected data after resolving disputes with physicians and teaching hospitals. The correction period is scheduled to end on June 3, 2015.
CMS will post the 2014 data (and updated 2013 data) on its website on June 30, 2015.
I will continue to provide updates on Sunshine Act developments as they occur.
