CMS Extends 2014 Data Submission Period to Friday, April 3, 2015

April 1, 2015
Ruselle W. Robinson

CMS announced yesterday that it would extend the 2014 data submission period for an additional three days to accommodate late filing applicable manufacturers and applicable group purchasing organizations (GPOs).  The 2014 data submission period will now end at midnight (Eastern Standard Time) on Friday, April 3, 2015.

The 45-day Review and Dispute period for physician and teaching hospitals will start on Monday, April 6, 2015.  Registered physicians and teaching hospitals will be given an opportunity to review submitted data that applies to them before it becomes public.  If  a physician or teaching hospital disputes their data and the submitting manufacturer or GPO agrees, the manufacturer or GPO will submit corrected data during the 15-day Correction period.  The 15-day Correction period will immediately follow the Review and Dispute period.  If the submitting manufacturer or GPO does not agree, or the dispute is unresolved at the end of the 15-day Correction period, then CMS will publish the data as under dispute.

CMS will post the 2014 data, and corrected 2013 data, on its website on June 30, 2015.

I will continue to follow and report on developments as they occur.  Stay tuned.
